The 21st Iran International Oil, Gas, Refining and Petrochemical Exhibition will take place from 5th to 8th of May 2016 in Tehran. The coming exhibition is very important because Iran as the world’s biggest gas reserve and as the fourth largest reservoir of oil will start one of its most aggressive oil industry development plans.

According to this plan, Iran intends to increase its production capacity from four million barrels of oil per day to above five million barrels of oil per day. Also, Iran intends to increase its gas production from around 700 million cubic meters per day to more that one billion cubic meters per day. Iran’s oil ministry plan for the development of petrochemicals section is to double the production which is now around 65 million tons per year.

to reach this ambitious goal, Iran is renewing its oil and gas international agreements and tends to juice up the agreements to attract international investors. These new agreements are finalised and now that international sanctions are removed foreign companies are eager to step in.

Iran anticipates that in the coming five years 150 billion dollars will be invested in its oil industry. The lion share of this investment will come from abroad. Aside that, international companies will help Iran with the know-how and by supplying new technologies to renovate Iran’s oil and gas sector.

This is why this year’s fair will be a huge opportunity for international companies to be part of Iran’s most ambitious energy development plan.
